Maintain Enthusiasm by Moving Past Your Comfort Zone

While practice is important for perfecting one’s craft and routines lead to efficiency, too much repetition can also leave one feeling as though he or she is stuck in a rut. To avoid this situation and maintain high levels of enthusiasm in our office, we routinely encourage members of Team Chicago On-site to step outside their comfort zones.

There are many benefits that come from trying new things and challenging ourselves that push us to the next levels in our Chicago On-site careers. For instance, when we accomplish a task we’ve always considered daunting, like hitting a big sales goal or staying consistent in our workout routines for a full month, it builds our self-confidence. This, in turn, inspires us to push ourselves even harder and tackle even bigger challenges in the future.

The trick to consistently stretching past our comfort zones is to get comfortable being uncomfortable. It’s easier to look for guaranteed wins and maintain the status quo, but that will not move us toward our dreams. One of our favorite quotes comes from Henry Ford who said, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” We don’t want yesterday’s successes to limit tomorrow’s potential, so we embrace the discomfort of growth.

If you’re deciding whether to try something new, we say go for it! Jumping right in is often the best way to learn. Follow Chicago On-site on Instagram to learn more about our tips for achieving remarkable success.
